How to delete our data as an organization?

Below, you will find an overview and detailed lists of what the deletion of a specific Ducky Challenge involves.

NB! Data deletion for a specific Ducky Challenge needs to be requested by the organization. To do so, please contact us at support@ducky.eco

What is removed?

1) Participation in a Ducky Challenge

The Ducky Challenge of a specific  organisation will be deleted. As a consequence, the organisation will not be displayed in any external widgets or reports, and all traces of their participation in a Championship (e.g. Klimakonkurransen) will be removed (co2 saved, activities logged etc).

2) Users’ Participation in a Ducky Challenge

Each participant has the possibility to get an overview of all the Ducky Challenges they took part in, under their user account. If the Ducky Challenge gets deleted, it will no longer be shown in their overview.

3) Daily Statistics for the Ducky Challenge

In a Ducky Challenge, daily statistics are recorded in 4 different ways:

    • For each individual participant, the total co2 saved for the day is stored in the database, along with the activities logged, and the points earned.
    • For each team, the total co2 saved by each participant within that team is added together for each day and stored in the database, along with the number of times each activity was logged, and accumulated points earned. In addition, the accumulated average co2 saved and points earned are stored.
    • For each section, the total co2 saved by each participant within that section is added together for each day and stored in the database, along with the number of times each activity was logged, and accumulated points earned. In addition, the accumulated average co2 saved and points earned are stored.
    • For the entire Ducky Challenge, the total co2 saved by all participants within the competition is added together for each day and stored in the database, along with the number of times each activity was logged, and accumulated points earned. In addition, the accumulated average co2 saved and points earned are stored.

Deleting the Ducky Challenge of a specific organisation removes all of the above from the database.

4) Total Statistics for the Ducky Challenge

In a Ducky Challenge, statistics for the entire duration of the competition are recorded. These statistics are recorded in 4 different ways:

    • For each individual participant, the total co2 saved for the duration of the competition is stored in the database, along with the activities logged, and the points earned.
    • For each team, the total co2 saved by each participant within that team for the duration of the competition is added together and stored in the database, along with the number of times each activity was logged, and accumulated points earned. In addition, the accumulated average co2 saved and points earned are stored.
    • For each section, the total co2 saved by each participant within that section is added together for the duration of the competition and stored in the database, along with the number of times each activity was logged, and accumulated points earned. In addition, the accumulated average co2 saved and points earned are stored.
    • For the entire Ducky Challenge, the total co2 saved by all participants within the competition is added together for the duration of the competition and stored in the database, along with the number of times each activity was logged, and accumulated points earned. In addition, the accumulated average co2 saved and points earned are stored.

Deleting the Ducky Challenge of a specific organisation removes  all of the above from the database.

5) Events in the Ducky Challenge

In a Ducky Challenge, the following events are recorded and visible to the users in the platform:

  • The Challenge Has Started (at Challenge start time)
  • The Challenge Has Ended (at Challenge end time)
  • Interesting Notifications (daily)
  • [Teammate] Has Joined Your Team (for each teammate that joins a participant’s team)
  • Your Team Has Changed Position (whenever a participant’s team moves up or down a leaderboard)
  • [Teammate] Has Logged These Activities (a daily summary of each teammate’s logged activities)
  • [Teammate] Has Set A Goal (whenever a teammate sets a goal)
  • [Teammate] Has Reached Their Goal (whenever a teammate sets a goal)
  • [Teammate] Has Completed A Quiz (whenever a teammate completes a quiz)

Deleting the Ducky Challenge of a specific organisation removes all of the above from the database.

6) Participation Counts for the Ducky Challenge

Both the expected participant count provided by the organisation upon team setup, and the number of people that joined the Ducky Challenge will be removed from the database.

7) User Interactions within the Ducky Challenge

During a Ducky Challenge, a participant may set goals, read helpful tips, take part in a quiz or set habits for themselves. These are recorded in the database. Deleting the Ducky Challenge will remove this data.

8) Ducky Challenge Details

When setting up a Ducky Challenge, details are provided, such as the Prize, or which Activities will be available to the users.  Deleting the Ducky Challenge removes all of these things from the database. This also includes the description, name, goal, image, team structure, start and end dates, and all other configuration details. There would be no trace left of this particular Ducky Challenge in the database.

9) A List of all Users in a Ducky Challenge

The list of all users that took part in a specific Ducky Challenge will be removed from the database. It would therefore be impossible to find out which users took part in this Ducky Challenge.

What is NOT removed?

1) General Statistics

Ducky accumulates the following statistics from every Ducky Challenge we run:

  • The total number of times each of our activities have been logged (daily, and overall)
  • The total amount of co2e saved (daily, and overall)
  • The total amount of points earned (daily, and overall)

We use this data in reporting, and for the research and development of our product. These are purely accumulations and are in no way tied to any particular Ducky Challenge. There is no way to derive individual Ducky Challenge data from these statistics.

2) Participants Statistics

We also store the following statistics for each participant in the database (the data is accumulated from every Ducky Challenge they have ever participated in):

  • The total number of times they have logged each activity
  • The total amount of co2e they have saved
  • The total amount of points they have earned

This is for those participants to know how much impact they have made throughout their history of using our product. A participant may participate in multiple Ducky Challenges, so we provide them a way of seeing these statistics about themselves. There is no way to derive individual Ducky Challenge data from these statistics. Ultimately, this also means that the participants’ user accounts are not being deleted. However, each participant has the possibility to delete her/his own account from their account settings.
